Instruction:

For the model made in exercise 8 investigate a parameter variation. Select appropriate performance
parameters (temperatures, energy consumption, heating demand, comfort...). Alter one of the design
parameters (window area, construction, orientation...) and investigate its
influence on changes of all of the chosen performance parameters. Alter another
design parameter and repeat the
simulation and analysis steps...
(refer to the
on-line
tutorial, or in-built help facilities)
Assignment:
- Evaluate the change in the selected
performance indexes (parameters). Select at least two-three: thermal comfort, energy
consumption, maximum load (heating or cooling)...
- Comment your results and briefly explain the change in performance
indexes. Rank from the best to the worst your design options (with different design
parameters) for each performance index. What can you conclude ?
- Assume that the temperature of the main zone of your
model is free-floating (= no heating or
cooling). Comment on the results in terms of whether or not free-floating
conditions are acceptable in view of thermal comfort of the occupants.
