Johan van Zoest
Drs. Johan van Zoest teaches urban planning at the Technical University of Eindhoven and is senior policy advisor at the municipality of Amsterdam. He wrote/edited a volume on Biodiversity (1998), considered as a standard on this topic in the Dutch language, and many articles and reports on urban nature and urban nature policy. Apart from being one of the leading urban ecologists in The Netherlands, he is also recognized as an expert in the theory on the psychological experience of the physical surroundings. He wrote a.o. a report Landschapskwaliteit (Landscape quality) (1996) on this subject. In his forthcoming book (due in 2003) , he explores the relationship between the experience of the urban landscape, urban ecology and urban planning practices.
