Declan Kennedy
Prof. Dipl.Ing. Declan Kennedy is an Irish Architect, Urban Planner, Permaculture Designer, Ecologist and Mediator, former Professor of Urban Design and Infrastructure at the Architectural Department of the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
He is a founding member of the Permaculture Insitute of Europe, was then Country Coordinator for Germany of the Global Action Plan for the Earth (GAP) - Household Ecoteam Programme. Chairman of the Board of GEN (Global Eco-Village Network) and up to 1999 ran the GEN - Europe secretariat in the ecological community LEBENSGARTEN STEYERBERG, Lower Saxony, Germany in which he lives.
With his wife, Prof. Dr. Margrit Kennedy (Building Science & Eco- logical Building Techniques, Architectural Department, University of Hanover), he had an architectural and planning office in Hanover and Steyerberg. Their latest book: Designing Ecological Settlements was published in German in 1998 and in English in 1997 by the European Academy of the Urban Environment and reprinted 2001 (Dietrich Reimers Verlag,Berlin).
