Eindhoven Green City
Carel van Dijk
Eindhoven is the hub of a modern technological complex that now extends to the cities of Tilburg, Den Bosch, Venlo and Hasselt.
Its strength is based on intensive co-operation between universities and colleges, the business community and local government.
Eindhoven is developing as an internationally competitibe business location through prestigious projects such as the redevelopment of former Philips compounds Emmasingel and Strijp S, Flight Forum, Philips High Tech Campus and the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Eindhoven is also investing in offering an attractive residential environment by:
- improving the look of the down-town area;
- an active environmental policy;
- restructuring older areas;
- an active water works policy;
- an active policy on public parks and gardens
Eindhoven wants to offer the best of both worlds: a lively city in a leafy settings symbolises this.
Our so-called ‘green’policy plan sets out our ideas concerning this ‘Biotope City’.
